MIND THE CONFERENCE

I have no use for knowledge that has not been preceded by a sensation

ANDRE GIDE

Critical talks are respectfully guided and crucial topics are discussed properly.

The main roles that I have been mandated with for leading groups from 50 to 500 people:

  • process facilitator
  • change agent
  • interactive public speaker
  • interviewer
  • panel moderator
  • story-teller
  • animator
  • improviser
  • silence and timekeeper
  • trainer
  • first follower of ideas

Large group meetings help to plan and implement organisation-wide change:*

  • solve complex problems
  • facilitate breakthrough thinking and innovation
  • enable organisational learning
  • create community
  • revitalise the organisation

* Gower Handbook of Training and Development

Meetings with a big crowd can be a powerful format for organisational change.

These meetings can serve as ‘decision accelerators’: internal and external stakeholders co-create and are invited to express their support for the desired changes.

WHAT OTHERS SAY

CLIENT ECHOES

Every year the board of the Association of Clinical Research Professionals selects an external non-clinical research speaker for its annual European Conference. For the November 2013 edition in Brussels, we invited Peter Musschoot to host a very interactive keynote. Remarkable what happened after the 60 minutes which he had animated just before lunch: other conference speakers, participants and board members mentioned the word ‘solution’ more than once in their conversations and presentations. I would like to recommend Peter as an interactive speaker for your conferences and seminars.
